The 97th edition of the Oscars will be held this Sunday, March 2, with the feeling that there is no definitive favorite of a season in which films such as ‘Conclave’, ‘Anora’, ‘The Brutalist’ or ‘Emilia Pérez’ could take home the most precious award of the night. There has also been controversy for ‘The Brutalist’, regarding the use of artificial intelligence used in the voice of its protagonist, Adrien Brody and his fellow nominee, Felicity Jones.
Despite this, Brody continues to lead the polls in the category of best actor.
Possibly the toughest contender to beat will be Timothée Chalamet, who with his interpretation of Bob Dylan in ‘A Complete Unknown’ triumphed in this section of the Screen Actors Guild awards.
Ralph Fiennes (‘Conclave’), Colman Domingo (‘Sing Sing’) and Sebastian Stan (‘The Apprentice’) are in the background, waiting for an unexpected change of direction.
And in the female category, Demi Moore, Mikey Madison and Fernanda Torres lead the predictions, with Gascón missing from the betting after the controversies and Cynthia Erivo, nominated for ‘Wicked’, as a mere extra to her companions.
If she wins her first Oscar for ‘The Substance’, Moore, at 62 years old, would complete the success story that began at the Golden Globes, when in her speech after receiving the award she said that her career had been underestimated.
