Liverpool FC will learn the first details of their Champions League campaign during the league draw on Thursday in Monaco (5:00 PM BST / 6:00 PM CEST / 12:00 PM ET). Qualified by UEFA’s club coefficient, the Premier League champions are in Pot 1 alongside Europe’s heavyweights and will face two opponents from each of the four nine-team pots to form an eight-match schedule: four at Anfield and four away.
The usual measures apply: they will not face other English clubs in the league phase and will face no more than two opponents from each country. The format, now in its second season, prioritizes variety over repetition and establishes key fixtures from day one.
This 36-team league phase is divided into a single table: the top eight advance directly to the round of 16, while teams ranked 9-24 will play a two-legged tie to complete the last 16 squad.
With fixtures announced on August 30 and September matchdays until the end of January, Liverpool’s path will be defined soon, even if the real tests come in the spring.
Below is a clear picture of who the Reds could face in the pot, based on the seedings confirmed by UEFA ahead of the draw.
