The iconic Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks return in 2025 to light up the New York City sky with over 80,000 colorful explosions over the East River. Celebrated since 1976, the show brings together thousands of people on both sides of the river to mark Independence Day with music, lights, and a festive summer atmosphere.
This year, the display will once again center around the Brooklyn Bridge and Lower East River, with fireworks launched from four barges and new visual projections on the bridge towers. The event is free and open to the public, with prime viewing spots at the Seaport District, DUMBO, and rooftop venues like Time Out Market in Brooklyn.
The Macy’s fireworks show is set for Friday, July 4, 2025, and is expected to begin around 9:25 p.m. local time, though the official start time is still pending. The city will soon announce designated public viewing zones and a free ticket lottery for premium spots.
NBC will air the official live broadcast starting at 8:00 p.m. (ET), with an encore at 10:00 p.m. You can also stream the full event on Peacock, while Telemundo will offer a Spanish-language version at 9:00 p.m. (ET).
The night will also feature live performances by Jonas Brothers, Lenny Kravitz, Ava Max, Keke Palmer, Eric Church, and Trisha Yearwood, with music direction by Questlove and James Poyser. Hosting the special is actress and singer Ariana DeBose.
