Mexican boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will defend his three world boxing titles in the super middleweight category on September 14 against undefeated Edgar Berlanga in Las Vegas.
Alvarez continues the tradition of fighting on the Mexican Independence Day weekend on a card that also includes the World Boxing Association middleweight champion, Cuban Erislandy Lara, defending his crown against fellow American Danny Garcia, a former welterweight and light welterweight champion.

Alvarez, 61-2-2 with 39 knockouts, risks his WBA, WBC and WBO crowns against the top-ranked WBA contender in the 168-pound division.
Berlanga, an American of Puerto Rican descent, is 22-0 with 17 knockouts. He enters his first world title fight after defeating Irishman Padraig McCrory by sixth-round knockout in February.
