The Powerball jackpot climbed to $482 million this week in the United States, sparking high expectations as no one has matched all six numbers for more than two months. The next Powerball drawing will take place on Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
According to the official lottery platform, the cash value of the jackpot, if taken as a lump sum, is $218.9 million. If someone matches all six winning numbers, it would become the second-largest Powerball jackpot of the year, only behind the $515 million prize won in California last March.
In recent history, this jackpot would rank as the 20th largest Powerball prize since 2003, just below the $487 million won in New Hampshire in 2016.
The winning numbers are: 7, 14, 23, 24, 60.
The Powerball was: 14.
The Power Play multiplier was: 2x.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. Players must match five main numbers plus the Powerball number to win the top prize.
The game offers nine ways to win, depending on how many numbers you match and whether you match the Powerball. The second prize is $1 million for matching all five numbers without the Powerball. Smaller prizes include $50,000 for matching four numbers plus the Powerball and $4 for matching only the Powerball number.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET. Tickets cost $2 and are available in 45 states plus the District of Columbia.
This is already the fifth major Powerball jackpot in 2025. Four jackpots have been won so far this year—in January, March, April, and May. The largest so far was the $515 million prize from March 29, while the last jackpot was $204.5 million, won in California in May.
The Power Play multiplier can boost non-jackpot prizes by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or even 10x (when the jackpot is $150 million or less). For example, a $50,000 prize could increase to $500,000 with a 10x multiplier. However, the Power Play does not apply to the jackpot amount.
