
The world of music and especially of heavy metal is in mourning. This Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the famous Ozzy Osbourne, legend of this musical genre and who became unique for his hoarse and guttural voice, passed away. At 76 years of age and just a few weeks after giving his last farewell concert, Osbourne has passed away.
In a statement issued by Ozzy Osbourne’s family, they stated the following: “It is with more sadness than words can express that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time,” said Ozzy’s close associates.

The family issued a statement, noting that Ozzy Osbourne passed away in a loving environment. However, the real cause of his death is unknown. Of course, since 2020 he had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease and his health condition had been quite delicate for several years.
Osbourne suffered from Parkinson’s Type 2, a neurodegenerative disease that affects the nervous system and manifests itself through tremors, muscle rigidity, slowness in movements and balance problems.
Also, the late singer suffered sequels of an ATV accident that happened in 2003 and that worsened after a domestic fall in 2019, leaving serious injuries in his spine, reason for which he was away from the stage for a good amount of time and that considerably impaired his mobility.
In addition, he presented a diagnosis of pulmonary emphysema, a chronic condition that deteriorates the lungs and makes breathing difficult, this due to his excessive consumption of tobacco and alcohol that was well known in the media world.

Of English origin, Osbourne rose to fame thanks to the band Black Sabbath, founded in the 70’s and considered the pioneer of Heavy Metal, a musical genre that had its heyday in the 80’s.
