A los 41 años, falleció el último domingo en un accidente de helicóptero a las afueras de Los Ángeles, junto a su hija Gianna y siete personas más. Una tragedia que enlutó al básquet y al mundo del deporte en general.

Aunque ya pasaron un par de días, los mensajes de pésame continúan, pues Kobe Bryant traspasó la NBA a tal punto de ser una leyenda del deporte en sí. Una de las últimas despedidas la hizo Jeanie Buss, propietaria de Los Angeles Lakers.

A través de Instagram, la dueña del equipo escribió un sentido mensaje. “Kobe, no sé cómo expresar lo que significas para mí, mi familia y los Lakers. Mi padre te amaba como un hijo, lo que nos hace familia. Cuando me invitaste a almorzar poco después de la muerte de mi padre, estaba luchando por encontrar motivación y propósito", publicó.

“Kobe trajiste a Gianna contigo para un tiempo conmigo. Le explicaste que querías demostrarle que las mujeres pueden ser líderes de la NBA, al igual que los hombres...Lo que hiciste fue darme la inspiración y la fuerza que estaba buscando. Reflexiono sobre ese día a menudo y me hace fuerte. Recuerdo eso cada vez que me siento deprimida y necesito un poco de coraje".

“Vanessa, Natalia, Bianka y Capri. Lamento mucho su pérdida. Estamos agradecidos por tenerlos en nuestro vidas y siempre estaremos aquí para ayudarlos. Nacion Laker, somos una familia que lamenta la pérdida de personas que todos amamos. Lloraremos juntos, lloraremos juntos, pero también sanaremos juntos, amaremos juntos y venceremos juntos. Te amamos”, finalizó el post.
